Oh, you were looking for me?

At this point, the answer to the above question is probably NO, but, to my few readers, sorry to have fallen off the face of the earth. February is a super busy month for me at my day job (financial journalist/editor, for those who don’t remember)– not only was I sick at the end of January and beginning of February, we host a big industry event in the middle of the month, then I went out of town, then we had two big issues back to back to sort out, etc., etc. It’s been a little crazy.

And every day I thought, “Today is the day I will write my next post,” and it just didn’t happen. Now I know why everyone always says it’s so hard to blog– you have all of these ideas that you want to get out and it’s difficult to find the time to do it when you’ve got the day to day to worry about.

In any case, I want to give this a good try at least to see where it can go, so I’m getting back on the horse, as it were, and as my first post back, I want to talk about shaving cream.

I’ve been using the same shaving cream for years and years, two brands in fact (I won’t say which, but they can be found in pretty much every drug stor near you). It’s one of those things that you don’t think about if it’s working well, and my two brands of shaving gel/cream have worked well for me.

I’ve loved the gel-to-cream  option because the gel stays put in your hand until you get it to the appropriate part. Then I shave and everything is smooth.

I thought I had been giving myself the best shaving experience, but I just found out that I was sorely mistaken.

For the February work event I mentioned, I did something new by choosing a dress from Rent the Runway (as an aside, have you heard about this? You can rent designer dresses for a fraction of the cost? Amazing, amazing business, but I digress).

When the messenger delivered my dress from their storeroom, I also

received a bunch of amazing samples with the rental, including a sample for eos shave cream in pomegranate raspberry.

I’ve seen their lip gloss in stores, but I must always pass the shaving cream and ignore it because I don’t remember looking at it or considering whether to try it out.

So, to say that I was skeptical that I would like this cream is a bit of an understatement.

But I was floored.

First of, the cream is so creamy and smells great. I was a bit wierded out because I’m used to the gel, but I slathered it on my leg (after deciding I would have enough to shave both) and went for it.

The cream left my legs so smooth, for days after, which is totally unusual for me. So much that I almost didn’t need lotion (though I quickly came to my senses, it is still winter in NYC after all). Suppose that might be why they named the company eos, or evolution of smooth…

Anyway, the week after I used the eos sample I tried my old shaving cream, which ironically is the same color and similar scent, and it just wasn’t the same. I went out and bought the full size version of the cream the next day. I’ve already used it again, and it is A-MA-ZING.
